CCS Cram Course
This 2 day course covering ICD-10-CM and CPT coding reviews all aspects of the CCS examination including test format, typical test questions, discussion of answers and the thought behind the questions and correct responses.
Prerequisite: Experience in coding inpatient records or coding the hospital portion of ambulatory surgery and emergency room care.

To provide education required for all different skill sets, NJPR offers a tiered approach to ICD-10-CM/PCS education: Expert, User and Basic. NJPR’s AHIMA Approved ICD-10 Trainer(s) follow the AHIMA Training Guidelines.

Basic (scheduled upon request)
This 3 hour Basic level training is geared to billing office personnel, organization business partners, administrators and ancillary professionals. NJPR’s Introduction to ICD-10 education session will provide attendees with an overview of the ICD-10-CM/PCS code structure and the rationale for the transition to the new code set.
The Introductory Level ICD-10-CM/PCS Education program provides an overview and understanding of ICD-10 Diagnostic Coding and ICD-10 Procedure Coding. Coding examples and code assignment practice exercises will be provided to ensure attendees have a basic understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS code assignment and mechanics. This is a two (2) day, ten (10) hour course approved for six (6) AHIMA CEUs.
The 3 day User level training is geared to physician practice/outpatient coders, clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists, case managers, quality assurance and quality improvement coordinators. The User level training provides a comprehensive understanding of ICD-10 Diagnostic Coding and ICD-10 Procedure Coding. Each Module is approved for six (6) AHIMA CEUs (2 classes- 12 CEUs) and five (5) AAPC CEUs (2 classes CEUs for a total of ten (10) CEUs).
This 9 day Expert level training geared to inpatient coders provides an in-depth, interactive modular approach on the mechanics of how to code using the ICD-10-CM/PCS code set. The Expert level training encompasses Diagnostic, Procedure and Chapter Specific Body System Coding and focuses heavily on the anatomy and physiology required for accurate coding Each Module is approved for six (6) AHIMA CEUs (for a total of 8 classes- 48 CEUs) and eligible for total of forty (40) AAPC CEUs.

Coders must have ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code books. These code books can be purchased through NJPR at a discounted rate or they can be purchased from other source.

These advanced ICD-10-CM/PCS workshops explore the guidelines and characteristics unique to coding those chapters with the most significant challenges.
Each hands-on workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to advance their understanding of the focused topic by coding cases using multiple coding exercises.
Upon completion of the workshop attendees will obtain the confidence required to apply accurate ICD-10 diagnoses and procedure codes in these challenging areas.
