Take your skills to the next level with NJPR’s coding education and training seminars.
For 45 years, NJPR has been providing coding education and training seminars geared towards various levels of experience and types of settings. NJPR can conduct these seminars at your facility, or your staff can attend the scheduled series listed below.
CCS Cram Course
This two-day course covering ICD-10-CM and CPT coding reviews all aspects of the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS®) examination including test format, typical test questions, discussion of answers and elaboration of the reasoning behind the questions and correct responses.
Prerequisite: Experience in coding inpatient records or coding the hospital portion of ambulatory surgery and emergency room care.
ICD-10-CM/PCS Courses
To provide education required throughout the healthcare delivery system, NJPR offers a tiered approach to ICD-10-CM/PCS education. NJPR’s AHIMA Approved ICD-10 educators can provide education for new coders as well as CDI and ancillary departments, physician office personnel and physicians/residents.
ICD-10-CM/PCS Workshops
We offer ICD-10-CM/PCS workshops to explore the guidelines and characteristics unique to coding chapters with the most significant challenges.
The challenges include Coding Guidelines, Annual Updates and Payer Focus. Each hands-on workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to advance their understanding of the focused topic by coding cases using multiple coding exercises.
The workshops can be customized for your facility and part of the NJPR Data Quality Review Program.
Prerequisite: Prior ICD-10-CM/PCS experience
CPT Refresh for Inpatient Coders
Consisting of seven one hour web based sessions, provides guidance on navigating the CPT code book, index, code descriptions, guidelines and documentation requirements. Each chapter and body system review includes coding exercises and answers. Independent study prior to the webinar enhances the learning process and is a prerequisite for this course.
